PURPOSE:To improve the bonding strength of each layer and durability of a lamination type membrane-convered oxygen sensor consisting of the first electrode layer, an oxygen ion-conductive solid electrolyte layer and the second electrode layer laminated in the mentioned order, by forming at least one of the electrode layers with a lattice type electrode. CONSTITUTION:A membrane layer 11, the first electrode layer 12, an oxygen ion-conductive solid electrolyte layer 13 and the second electrode layer 14 are laminated in the mentioned order to obtain a lamination type membrane-covered oxygen sensor. In this oxygen sensor, the second electrode layer is provided such as to contact a gas to be measured, and a potential difference occurring between the two electrode layers is measured with a voltage measuring instrument 16. At least one of the first and second electrode layers 12, 14, for example, the first electrode layer 12 consists of a lattice type electrode layer having bores 12a. Thus, an oxygen sensor which is suitably used to detect the oxygen concentration in an exhaust gas from an automobile engine and which has a high durability can be obtained. |
