PURPOSE:To easily generate a great amount of X-rays by providing a cooling target at the end of the scanner of an electron-ray irradiator and scanning electron rays on the cooling target. CONSTITUTION:The upper end of the accelerating tube 1 consisting of the plurally stacked accelerating electrodes 7 whose center is provided with the hole 6, with the insulating cylinders 8 interposed among them, is provided with the electron rays- generating filament 9 and the focusing cup 10, and also the lower end is provided with the scanner 2, the end of which is provided with the target 41 made of a metal having a high X-ray conversion rate, e.g., gold, and the cooling target 4 consisting of the backing material 42 and the cooling part 43. Thus, when applying a voltage to the terminal 3, electron rays generated at the filament 9 is accelerated and then scanned over the whole surface of the target 4 by a deflecting coil provided to the scanner 2, so that a great amount of X-rays B can be easily generated. |
