PURPOSE:To stabilize magnetic characteristics, by hot rolling and heat treatment of an Fe-Ni-Cu semihard magnetic alloy at specific conditions, then by cold working of the alloy. CONSTITUTION:Fe-Ni-Cu semihard magnetic alloy, consisting of 12-25% Ni, 3- 20% Cu, the balance being Fe, is melted and cast to an ingot. The alloy ingot is heated to 1,000+ or -50 deg.C temp. and hot rolled at 80-99.5% reduction of area. Then it is cooled with air to 650-800 deg.C temp. and hot rolled once again at this temp. and at 30-70% reduction area. It is further cooled to ordinary temp. and tempered by heating at a 500-600 deg.C temp. for >=1hr. Subsequently, it is cold worked at 10- 80% reduction of area, whereby its coercive force and residual magnetic flux density is improved and stabilized. |
