Oxygen enriched air producer - with hollow fibres lined by semipermeable membrane

A device to change the oxygen content of primary air for a combustion chamber or an internal combustion engine consists of packs of hollow fibres which are lined on the inside by a very thin semipermeable membrane. Large numbers of these hollow fibres with a microporous wall are arranged in parallel in a casing and pass through front and rear walls which are sealed against the circumference of the fibres.. This device can process air in large quantities and/or with a low pressure loss and has small overall dimensions. Lung power is adequate to use the device as breathing apparatus. For combustion chambers, temperatures of over 2500 deg.C can be achieved. For internal combustion engines, it saves fuel and requires no air-fuel ratio change between full load and part load.
