The drive for a cabin suspended from an overhead rail for mine galleries has a diesel engine behind the driver's cabin, suspended between two drive units (A,B). Each unit has two friction wheels (14), one each side of the rail, which rotate about vertical axes and which grip the web (11") of the I-beam acting as the overhead rail, between them. The two wheels are mounted on arms (15) which are pulled together by a hydraulic cylinder (19) at the outer end of the unit. At the inner ends of the pair of arms is connected a swinging strap (18), adjacent to an hydraulic motor (16) on each arm. Each hydraulic cylinder contains a stepped piston, with two sections of different sizes. Between the lines, connecting two hydraulic motors and the cylinder, is a control valve operated by signals corresponding to the pressure in the lines.
|
