USE:Antiprotozoal, antitumorigenic, synthetic intermediate of drugs. PREPARATION:The mold of Nocardia sp No. N-1231 is cultured in a liquid media at a pH near the neutral at 20-32 deg.C to produce and accumulate C-15003PHM of formula I in the culture mixture. The substance is contained in both the culture filtrate and the cells and it is isolated directly or by solvent extraction from the culture filtrate and by adsorption on an adsorbent such as silica gel from the cells, then purified. |
