PURPOSE:To prevent a screen from deflecting in a still picture display television set, by inhibiting writing into a memory on the basis of a synchronizing signal in still picture display and by reproducing a one-field signal repeatedly in reproduction. CONSTITUTION:A received video signal, after being detected, is converted by A/D converter 14 into a digital signal, which is recorded, field by field, in alternate memories 16 and 17. These recorded signals are reproduced alternately and displayed at part of cathode-ray tube 13 as a built-in picture. With the operation of button 28', flip-flop 30 is inverted by the next vertical synchronizing signal to close gate 29, stopping a write-in signal. Then, the one-field picture signal in one memory is repeatedly reproduced to display a still picture. Consequently, the picture is divided into two upper and lower fields and only the one-field signal is used, so that a picture free from deflection can be obtained. |
