Solar heat collector coupled with seasonal underground storage - has shallow drilled heat exchange tubes embedded in aerated concrete in fluid communication with rotating banks of parabolic connectors

The underground heat exchange arrangement consists of rows of holes (1) three to four metres deep which house the heat exchanger tubes (2) the holes are surrounded by aerated concrete (3) which improves the heat exchange with the ground. An insulating wall (4) and cover (5) enclose the storage volume. A matrix of parabolic solar collectors (6) is located above ground and framework (7). The orientation of the banks of collectors is constantly adjusted to follow the sun's trajectory. The absorbing tubes of the collectors are interconnected and the heated fluid is pumped to the heat exchanger tubes (2) where the heat is given up to the storage volume.
