The piping elbow has an oval section which may have the major diameter in line with the elbow radius or at right angles to the elbow radius. The oval section elbow may be fitted with reducers at each end so that the elbow minor diameter is greater than the pipe diameter. Large diameter oval piping may also be interspaced between the elbow and the reducer. The elbow has an entry with a right circular section and tapers progressively to become elliptical at the middle of the section.
