PURPOSE:To obtain a recording material that can produce fast and stable recorded figures which do not spontaneously discolor, by combining a color developed sheet including a specified phosphorus-containing biphenyl compound present in a substrate with a color producing ink containing a vanadium compound and/or a leuco dye. CONSTITUTION:(A) The compound having the general formula I (wherein R represents H, OH, 1-12C alkyl or 1-12C alkanol), for example a compound having the formula II or III, is disolved in a solvent such as alcohol and the solution is applied to a substrate such as paper to be impregnated therein and to obtain the color developed sheet. (B) The vanadium compound (for example a compound having the formula VOX3 wherein X represents an anion of organic or inorganic acids or a siloxane compound of vanadium) and/or a leuco dye are disolved in a solvent to obtain the colorless or slightly colored color producing ink, which is then combined with the color developed sheet to obtain the intended recording material. |
