PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reading device that can adjust a light amount without increasing the adjusting time even when variation occurs in black level.SOLUTION: An image reading device includes a reference member, a reading unit containing a light source and a light receiving unit, a conversion unit for converting an analog signal from the reading unit into digital data, a correction unit for calculating correction data obtained by removing variation of black reference data of each pixel from the digital data, a setting unit for setting a light amount setting value, and a controller. The controller executes black reference data acquisition processing of acquiring black reference data, correction data acquiring processing of acquiring correction data based on the digital data obtained by turning on a light source according to a light amount setting value and reading, and the black reference data, adjustment processing of comparing the correction data with a first predetermined value and setting a light amount adjustment value as a reading-time light amount adjustment value when the correction data is coincident with the first predetermined value, and reading processing of turning on the light source in accordance with the reading-time light amount adjustment value to read a manuscript.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5 |
