In the case of the selection device, the selection keys (17) which project through windows (14) in the door are fitted, together with their switches (16), in rows on identically designed printed-circuit boards (41-48) in order to simplify installation, wiring and maintenance, which printed-circuit boards are mounted removably on individual rails (15) which hold the switches in their position and, for their part, are installed parallel to one another and individually detachably on the door frame (12). Multi-wire flat ribbon cables (20, 21), which can be connected to the printed-circuit boards by means of plug connections in each case in the lateral end regions of said printed-circuit boards, are used to connect all the printed-circuit boards to one another and to the electronic control device in the automatic machine cabinet. The glow lamp (L) which is installed in each selection key (17) can be replaced by a locking bolt (26) in order to render such selection key inoperable, which locking bolt prevents this selection key being depressed. <IMAGE>
