PURPOSE:To record information speedily in a nonimpact manner by a method wherein a specified character on a printing drum which rotates at a speed higher than that of a recorder is detected when it has reached the printing position in order to form a latent image by applying a high voltage to the portion between the drum and the roller. CONSTITUTION:A recording drum 1 equipped with a recorder is turned in the direction of A and simultaneously a printing drum 5 with characters, symbols, etc. formed on its outside surface is turned in the direction of B at the velocity much higher than that of the drum 1. When the specified character on the drum 5 has reached the printing position, a printing signal synchronized with a position signal obtained from a rotation detecting plate 8 turning in the direction of C interlockingly with the drum 5 actuates a semiconductor switch 6 for a short time to allow a high voltage power source 7 to apply a high voltage to the drum 5. This causes a discharge between the drum 5 and drum 1, forming a latent image of the character on the drum 1. The image is converted into an actual one by a developing apparatus 2, and transferred to recording paper by a transfer device, before being cleaned by a cleaner 4. |
