<p>The 'up and over' garage door is raised with the aid of a single coil spring (R) mounted parallel to and immediately below the lintel (2). Separate cables (8,9) each traverse an idling pulley wheel (16,17) attached to the respective ends of spring (R), being anchored (10,11) above the door (5) sides, passing round pulley wheels (14,15) in the top angles, and extending down the door sides to affix to an internally angled cantilever arm (12,13). The door is hung on pin-jointed levers (6,7) and is guided by rollers (22,23) running in vertical tracks integral with frame posts (3,4). Stops (20,21) may be mounted on each door side at the top third point, serving both to arrest the door at closure and to aid opening movements.</p> |
