PURPOSE:To eliminate damage of the corner of ceramic membrane units or initiation of cracks in these units and thereby to raise up the rate of acceptance of products by grinding the end faces of ceramic units by means of collision against the inner wall of a ring-shaped grinding element. CONSTITUTION:When ceramic membrane units 4 in an appropriate number are put into a ring-shaped grinding element 2 and a vibrator is turned on, these units are energized into linear reciprocation by swing motion of the oscillator plate 1. They slide on a plastic sheet 5 to collide against the inner wall of the grinder 2 or against one another repeatedly. At this time, only end faces of the units 4 are ground through collision or frictional contact, and each end face will be thus given a little round convex owing to influence of the vibrations. |
