An aerial combat flight director is controlled by an airborne computer (12) which is provided with sensors (11) giving position, attitude, distance and velocity information of a target continuously and a logic unit (13). The processed information is selected to provide the tactically best flight manoeuvre which is displayed in the pilot's field of vision as in a head-up display (14), to enable flight control to be effected by visual follow-up. The pilot is able to feed the computer (12) with any additional information which he may have received, as over a radio link for example. <IMAGE> |
