PERFORATED SPACER OF WATER ELECTROLYZING CELL OR FUEL CELL

PURPOSE: To decrease the number of parts and man-hours for operation by cutting perforated spacers out of hollow yarn of a synthetic resin or rubber sheets embedded with layer of metallic microtubes. CONSTITUTION: One cell of this filter press type water electrolyzing cell is formed of an anode side of bipolar plates 9 and a cathode side of an anode power feeder 8, electrode joined body films 3 consisting of solid-state high- polymer electrolytic films and the bipolar plates 9 adjacent to the anode power feeder 8. The perforated spacers 25 are interposed between the bipolar plates 9 and the electrode joined body films 3 on the outer side of the respective headers of the bipolar plates 9. Sealing gaskets 26 are interposed between the electrode joined films 3 and the bipolar plates 9. The perforated spacers 25 are cut out to required shapes from the hollow yarn made of the synthetic resin or the rubber sheets 29 embedded with the metallic microtube layers 28. As a result, the one part is provided with two functions.
