PURPOSE:To improve the life by providing switching means for switching the flow direction selectively on flow paths of a fluid oxidizing agent. CONSTITUTION:A fuel cell device body Z is formed by combining a plurality of unit cells. The unit cell is constituted bt providing catalyst electrodes of porous metal on both sides of a matrix impregnated with an electrolyte and plates on back sides of both electrodes. A plurality of grooves is provided on the electrode side surface of the plate to serve as the flow path for a fluid fuel and fluid oxidizing agent. Feed and exhaust pipes K, K', L, L' are connected to pipes H, H' connected to the fluid fuel flow path of the devive body and pipes I, I' connected to the fluid oxidizing agent flow path respectively through electromagnetic vulves S1-S6. The flow direction is switched to each flow path by switching the electromagnetic valves S1- S6 with a controller M. |
