In the case of a construction means for constructing stands, furniture, shelves, transportable buildings and objects built by this construction means, the object to be achieved is to produce a construction means and objects built by this construction means which can be assembled in a simple manner and using simple, universally applicable means, to produce considerable static load capacity, and in which strips, preferably of wood, can be used which can also be prepared, in cross-section, simply and with little cost. The invention achieves this object in that the connectors are sections of a profiled rod which have corner rails, between each of which there is a slot, and a central hollow tube which is connected to the apex of the corner rails by walls running radially outwards, the slots and the hollow tube forming cut-outs in which attachment devices engage, in that the strips are arranged with their end faces abutting against the connector, in that the end faces of the strips are shaped and dimensioned such that the edges of their end faces and/or their side surfaces adjacent to the end faces are supported against one another and in that the attachment devices have a part built into the strips which can be tensioned by a part which engages in the connector and can be tightened by means of a screw. By this means, clamped connections are produced which are characterised by very high static strength.
