PURPOSE:To reduce the expansion of the grid of the plate of a lead acid battery, prevent any defective contact between the grid and the active material, and increase the life of the battery by joining the separator and the grid with an adhesive to make them to be fixed to one another, before the active material is packed into the grid. CONSTITUTION:A nitrile rubber system adhesive is applied to parts C of a separator B, so that dotlike or linear adhesive layers are formed over the separator B. Following that, an expanded grid A made of a lead-calcium system alloy is placed over these adhesive layers before they are passed through a roll press, thereby making the separator B and the grid A to be joined. |
