PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a friction resistance by decreasing the number of gears with the adoption of a wave gear as an acceleration mechanism in a mechanical watch and to realize a highly accurate transmission mechanism having no backlash, thereby remarkably increasing a freedom of the arrangement of a second hand, a minute hand, and an hour hand.SOLUTION: A mechanical watch includes: a barrel 10 having a spiral spring for accumulating energy; a speed-increasing wheel row for increasing a rotation energy output from the barrel 10; a speed control mechanism for performing an orderly reciprocating rotary movement; and an escapement for controlling the speed-increasing wheel row in association with the speed control mechanism. A wave gear 20 is employed as the speed-increasing wheel row. An input part of the wave gear 20 is connected to the barrel 10, and an output part thereof is connected with an escape wheel 40 of the escapement.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
