PURPOSE:To dry earthworm while keeping its original shape without causing denaturation in its components by a method in which the earthworm is dipped in an alcohol and then dried. CONSTITUTION:Earthworm is sufficiently washed with water and then dipped in a reagent-grade ethyl alcohol containing 99vol% ethyl alcohol, for example, so as to displace moisture present in the earthworm with the ethyl alcohol sufficiently. Then, the earthworm is separated from the ethyl alcohol and soon spread over a stainless steel net for drying in a hot air dryer at 40-70 deg.C for 5-9hr preferably. Thus, the earthworm dried by such a method can keep its effective components almost completely without any denaturation and loss by efflux. |
