NEW MATERIAL:A salt compound consisting of acetylsalicylic acid and diguanidine of formula I (n is 0 or 1; R is phenylene, pyridinediyl, alkylene, etc.). EXAMPLE:1,4-Diguanidobenzenediacetylsalicylate. USE:An antipyretic and analgesic agent, anti-inflammatory agent, a blood platelet agglutination inhibitor, prostaglandin formation inhibitor and an ameliorant for the microcirculatory system. Higher solubility in water and higher activity than acetylsalicylic acid, and capable of preparing a solution sufficiently injectable even into blood vessels and muscles. The aqueous hydrogen ion concentration is near neutral and has much less side effects on the stomach and the intestines than those of the acetylsalicylic acid. PROCESS:A salt of diguanidine expressed by formula II (HX is hydrogen halide, etc.) is reacted with acetylsalicylic acid to give the compound of formula I. |
