PURPOSE:To miniaturize a water ionizer and to perform instantaneous ion exchange by forming an electrolytic cell, provided with an air-permeable cyclindrical diaphragm of synthetic resin, between the external pipe of a stainless-steel-made cathode and an anode carbon rod stood in the external pipe. CONSTITUTION:At the upper part of case 1 of a water ionizer, water tank cover 3 equipped with injection opening 2 in the center is arranged and at the lower part of case 1, extracting member 4 which extracts ionized water and acidic water separately is arranged. In case 1, electrolytic cell is fixed upright. Electrolytic cell 5 has insulating cover bodies 7 and 8 at upper and lower ends of stainless steel external pipe 6, carbon rod 12 stood on lower cover body 8, and air-permeable cylindrical diaphragm 13 made of synthetic resin fixed between external pipe and carbon rod 12. After a constant amount of water is injected, electricity is fed to external pipe 6 and carbon rod 12 to perform ion exchange through the diaphragm, so that alkali ionized water and acidic water will be produced at the side of external pipe 6 used as the cathode and at the side of carbon rod 12 used as the anode respectively. |
