PURPOSE:To improve reproduced image density and resolution by subjecting a magnetic recording medium to digital magnetization, modulating a laser beam in accordance with image information, irradiating this beam onto the magnetized medium and demagnetizing the irradiated part. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic recording sheet 1 formed with a magnetic layer 2 of low curie point such as CrO2 on a base 3 is mounted on a cylinder or the like, and while it is being rotated in the direction of an arrow A, the magnetic field of which the direction inverts and changes digitally is acted upon the gap 5a of a magnetic head 5, whereby the sheet is subjected to digital inversion magnetization 4 in the direction shown by arrows. Next, the signal S obtained by inputting the image signal Vs to a signal processor 10 and modulating the same is inputted an optical modulator 13 for a laser beam 12, and the laser beam 12' modulated by this is focused by a lens 14, whereby the irradiated area D of the magnetic layer 2 is formed. The sheet 3 is irradiated while being run in the arrow P direction. In this way, the magnetic images are formed in the area C which has not been heated above the curie point by the laser beam 12', and the reproduced images are obtained by the magnetic toner or the like. |
