摘要 <p>PURPOSE:To diminish the level difference generated in the direction of longitude of a strip, and to improve the yield of product, by detecting thickness and traveling distance of a material to be rolled and the number of rotation of a coiler, by inputting these detected data to an arithmetic processor which then produces a command signal for starting the slowdown and for starting the stopping action. CONSTITUTION:The number of rotation of a coiler 2 is detected by a detector 20; the length signal for a strip 3 is taken out by a detecting roll 7 and a number of rotation detector 70; and the average thickness of the strip 3 and the level difference caused by the first rolling pass are taken out by a thickness detector 8. When the strip 3 running out of the coiler 2 is slowing down its speed at the first stage, each signal for the number of rotation of the coiler 2, the average thickness of the strip 3, the rolling speed, and a position wherein a level difference is caused by the first rolling pass, is inputted to an arithmetic processor 6 which then operates on the basis of these input signals and constants, and produces a signal for starting the first stage slowdown. When a level difference point caused by the first rolling pass comes to the position of thickness detector 8, the level difference detecting signal, the rolling speed signal, the strip length signal, and the rolling direction signal are inputted to the arithmetic processor 6 which then operates these data and produces a signal to start the control for stopping action. By this signal, the speed of rolling mill is reduced, and the level difference point caused by the first rolling pass stops just in front of the rolling roll.</p>
