PURPOSE:To measure the speed of revolution over a wide range accurately and for a short period of time by a method wherein the titled detector is composed of a frequency counter circuit whose gate input is a Schmitt circuit output while its input is the clock signal being outputted by an oscillation circuit; and an arithmetic circuit that converts said data signal into a reciprocal. CONSTITUTION:An electric signal from a rotation detector 4 installed opposing to a rotation detecting piece that rotates together with a rotor is shaped with a Schmitt circuit 5 and inputted as a square wave signal to a frequency counter 7 and an arithmetic circuit 8 as an input of one side respectively. Further a clock signal generated by an oscillator 9 is made to be an input of the other side of the frequency counter 7 and counting starts at the first one of the rectangular signal, thereby allowing counting to be executed unitl the second signal enters. Numerical value counted is sent as a data signal to the arithmetic circuit 8 and there converted to a number of revolutions. Through said process, a number of revolutions over an entire range can be measured efficiently and accurately. |
