PURPOSE:To make interruption copying of originals of different sizes possible by changing the registration of an original and copying paper by an interruption command and operating a paper conveying path changeover means for ejecting jammed paper of a gathering machine. CONSTITUTION:In the case of performing interruption copying of an original of a different size, the operating timing of a copying paper feed roller or a scanning optical system is changed so that the leading ends of the original and copying paper are correctly registered and therfore interruption is accomplished while an automatic original feeder 400 is being used. Since an interrupted copy is ejected through an ejecting port 501 by using a conveying path changeover means which operates when an automatic gathering machine causes paper jam, the mingling of the interrupted copy and the other copies having been gathered does not occur even if the automatic gathering machine is not stopped and disconnected.
