PURPOSE:To perform program search reproduction, including the high-speed and intermediate-speed transportation, etc., of a reproducing converter, accurately and rapidly when a desired program whose location is to be retrieved exists near a recording signal end position. CONSTITUTION:Through the program search reproduction of a final program, a reproducing element 3, while reproducing an address signal, is transported in an inner circumferential direction at a high speed to reproduce a return signal. When a lead-out switch 9 is turned on, on the other hand, the reproducing element 3 is moved in an outer circumferential direction for a prescribed time and then transported in the inner circumferential direction again at an intermediate speed. When the starting part of the final program is detected from the reproduced address signal, normal reproduction is started at the part and when not, the reproducing element 3 is transported in the outer circumferential direction to perform still motion reproduction at the circumference of the recording ending part of the program. |
