PURPOSE:To improve the playback output of a magnetic recording medium by increasing the corecive force of a ferromagnetic thin film formed by using an airtight curcible which has a nozzle of specific size. CONSTITUTION:In an airtight crucible 11 which has a nozzle 10 with greater length than its diameter and of size greater than the mean free stroke of vapor particles of a ferromagnetic material 14, supplied into the crucible 11 and heated to vapor, in the crucible, the ferromagnetic material 14, such as Co, is placed and heated by a filament 13, etc., and the produced vapor particles of the ferromagnetic material are vacuum-deposited on a base 5. |
