A zink-nickel-phosphate coating composition for improving the interlaminar insulation of components used in a magnetic circuit and which can be cured at relatively low temperatures (104-177 DEG C). Said coating composition consists essentially in weight percent of 2-6% zinc, 0.1-1% nickel, 4-8% phosphorus, 0.1-1% of a wetting agent, 5-15% of magnesium silicate as an interlamination resistance improving agent, and 3-15% of an agent which improves the smoothness of the applied coating selected from at least one of boric acid and aluminium nitrate, and the balance essentially water. |
