PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid-state image pickup device capable of suppressing deterioration of picture quality caused by hot carriers and a driving method thereof.SOLUTION: A solid-state image pickup device includes: a pixel having a photoelectric conversion element, an accumulation area to which the charges generated by the photoelectric conversion element are transferred, a reset part for resetting the accumulation area with a power voltage of 4.05 V or more, and an amplification transistor for outputting a signal corresponding to the amount of charges accumulated in the accumulation area while amplifying; a current source circuit having a vertical output line connected with the pixel, and first through third transistors, and feeding a predetermined constant current to the vertical output line; and a voltage setting circuit for setting the gate voltage of a first transistor to a first voltage, the gate voltage of a second transistor to a second voltage larger than the first voltage, and the gate voltage of a third transistor to a third voltage larger than the second voltage but smaller than the power supply voltage, so that the drain-source voltage of the first through third transistors becomes 1.75 V or less.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
