<p>PURPOSE:To increase the number of translation words by storing in a dictionary memory a word, whose ending character of its original form is repeated during inflection, among words whose endings are inflected regularly together with the character to be repeated with a special mark at the ending of the original form. CONSTITUTION:The code of the alphabet of an English input generated by a key decoder 20 and supplied to a key buffer 21 is processed through the operation of a translation key by comparing the ending part of the word with the data of an ROM pattern 24 by a comparing circuit 23 under the control of a control circuit 22. Then, the circuit 22 writes a character, from which a coincident character is omitted in a memory 22M. Then, this data and the data of an ROM pattern 25, i.e., the word are compared mutually and when both data coincide with each other, information on a part of speech and the address of translation stored together are read in the circuit 22 to display the translation word from the memory 22M on a display device 30. When the ending character of the original form of the word is repeated in inflection, a mark is added to the ending of the original form in a storage, and a discrimination circuit 26 detects it, so that the circuit 22 stops comparing operation.</p> |
