PURPOSE:To obtain sharp reproduced images of high light carrier generation efficiency by X-ray exposure by providing a layer of high absorptivity to irradiated X-rays on a conductor layer in combination with a photoconductor layer. CONSTITUTION:A Pbo layer 3 of superior X-ray absorption efficiency is formed on a conductor layer 1, and a photoconductive layer 2 of a Se layer 2 or the like is formed thereon, whereby an X-ray photoreceptor is made. Order of the layer 2 and the layer 3 may be reversed. As a layer of high X-ray absorption efficiency, a phosphor layer 4 contg. zinc sulfide cadmium or calcium tungstate may be provided in lieu of the PbO layer 3. The light carriers generated in the layer 3 in this way or the light carriers generated in the Se layer 2 by the fluorescence generated by the absorption of X-rays by the layer 4 are high in generation efficiency. Hence, said X-ray photoreceptor is uniformly charged then exposed with X-rays, after which it is developed with the toner, thence the images are transferred onto recording paper, whereby the sharp reproduced images are obtained. |
