PURPOSE:To double the printing speed of an ink jet printer by providing plural ink jet nozzles in a row on a carriage and by causing ink drops jetted out from those nozzles to direct one matrix. CONSTITUTION:In an ink jet printer of electric charge control type wherein printing is accomplished by ink drops jetted out from a nozzle 5 which are deflected by deflection electrodes 11, 11 arranged in the longitudinal direction, while a carriage on which the nozzle 5 is mounted is caused to move horizontally at a constant speed, plural ink jet nozzles 5A, 5B are provided in a row on the carriage, and ink drops jetted out from those nozzles 5A, 5B are directed to the position of one matrix which composes a character or a symbol, and one matrix pattern is formed and recorded by ink drops jetted out from plural heads. |
