<p>PURPOSE:To enable the use of a compact feed source for paper-feeding, by a method wherein, in a recording method to form a line by scanning a carriage a plural number of times, when a distance for the number of printing columns is shorter than that for a specified number, the carriage is caused to temporarily wait in a home position. CONSTITUTION:According to a printing command, a carriage CA moves forward, and 4 upper stages of 5-7 dot matrix are printed by nozzles N1-N4. During said printing, the number of printing columns is counted, and the counting result is compared with details of a printing column number storing resistor. If the two coincide with each other and the printing for the 4 upper stages is complete, a paper feed for 4-dot line and the return operation of the carriage are conducted in parallel to each other. If the details of the printing column number storing resistor exceeds a reference value, the carriage CA executes printing of successive 3 lower stages from a home position immediately. If however, the details of the column number storing resistor is below the reference value, the carriage CA waits at a rightmost end temporarily until a printing is complete, and then a printing for a next stage is executed.</p> |
