PURPOSE:To enable two types of paper, hard and soft, to be used in an ink jet recorder which is capable of printing multicolor record at a high speed, by causing ink dots to jet out and adhere to, so as to form a reflected image, on the surface of a roll-like transfer medium which attracts, but does not absorb ink dots. CONSTITUTION:Ink particles 4 jetted out in response to signals of a piezo-electric element 12 installed to a recording head 8 form a reflected image in dots on the surface of a transfer roller 1. This image 5 passes through between a pressure roller 2 and the transfer roller 1. Images are transferred one by one on the surface of a medium to be recorded 3. Multi-color recording can be made by changing the color of ink in each of ink heads 8... In this manner, recording can be made on the surface of both stiff recording medium and soft recording medium by the same device and the gap between the recording head 8 and the image forming surface 1 can be precisely maintained. |
