PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a dust core having high strength and excellent in magnetic properties.SOLUTION: Provided is powder A for a magnetic core for producing a dust core obtainable by subjecting a green compact to annealing treatment, comprising glass powder essentially consisting of granulated powder 1 obtained by granulating iron-based amorphous powder having a grain size distribution in the range of 1 to 200 μm and subjected to insulation treatment and whose softening temperature is lower than the annealing treatment temperature. The granulated powder 1 is obtained by fusing each of the grains of the iron-based amorphous powder subjected to insulation treatment (the grain 2 of the magnetic powder made of an insulation film 4 covering the grains 3 and the surfaces thereof) using a PVA water solution having a viscosity of 3 to 25 mPa s.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
