An instrument for loading of an insertion tube with a flexible, T-shaped contraceptive device, so that the latter can be inserted into the uterus by means of the insertion tube, comprises a channel which first converges to corners 18, 18' and, from these, has a widened oval portion 19. The distance from the end of the channel at the oval portion to the corners is less than the length of the arms 31 of the T-shaped device. To load the insertion tube, the latter is introduced into the channel, together with the T-shaped device which has been inserted beforehand into it such that the legs 29 of the T-shaped device are introduced into the tube and the arms extend laterally outwards from the tube, the convergent shape of the channel ensuring that the arms of the T- shaped device are bent down in the direction towards the leg. The corners hold the arms in the bent-down position when the tube is withdrawn. The oval portion ensures that the free ends of the arms are so close to one another that, when the tube is pushed forwards again in the channel, these ends can be enclosed by the tube, in which case the T-shaped device is ready for insertion into the uterus with the aid of the insertion tube. <IMAGE> |
