PURPOSE:To manufacture springs automatically from a long hardened steel band by heating a specified part of the band while sending out the hardened steel band, and after cooling, fixing it by a clamp, forming an expansion check hole and a pawl, cutting to a specified length and coiling. CONSTITUTION:A hardened steel band 1 is rewound from an uncoiler 9 and pressed through a high frequency heater 11, a feed roller 12 and a minipress 13, and the tip is fixed by a clamp 14. At this time, a specified position of the steel band 1 is heated by energizing the heater 11, and then cooled and annealed. Next, the clamp 14 is released, and the steel band 1 is sent by the feed roller 12. When the annealed part comes to the position of the minipress 13, the feed roller 12 is stopped, and the steel band 1 is held by the clamp 14 to form a expansion check hole 14 and pawl 5 in the annealed part. This is sent to a coiling and cutting device 15, and a coiled spring cut to one unit is manufactured. |
