PURPOSE:To facilitate setting a gap and improve the operating ratio of a down coiler, by operating and displaying a true gap between a mandrel and wrapper rolls in the down coiler for a strip by a position detector of a gap adjusting device. CONSTITUTION:Wrapper rollers A and B of a down coiler are held by a swing frame 2, and the frame 2 is held slidably by a cylinder 7 which is connected to a wrapper frame 3 by an attaching pin. The movement of the cylinder 7 is transmitted to a worm jack 9 through a triangular link 8 to adjust gaps gA and gB between a mandrel 1 and wrapper rollers A and B. A worm jack 9 is rotated by a motor 10, and the quantity of movement of the worm jack 9 from a reference position is detected by a pulse generator 11. True average values of gaps gA and gB are displayed on a display equipment on a basis of this detection value, and thus, gaps are set and changed in a short time. |
