Roll seal for a plurality of passage apertures which are situated one behind the other in the direction of movement, in the case of which the passage apertures are sealed off by sealing strips with respect to a strip which can be moved by a roll, and in the case of which the strip has a recess which is essentially no larger than the largest passage aperture and a closing surface which is at least as large as the front view of all the passage apertures combined, the recess and the closing surface being arranged one above or one below the other in the direction of movement and can be stopped with an accurate fit in front of each passage aperture.
