PURPOSE:To improve a corrosion resistance of a magnetic tape without degradation of its magnetic characteristic by fabricating a tape for magnetic recording through the process of doping a base tape with an evaporated film of a magnetic metal composite comprising Ni by 0-30wt%, Mo 0.5-12.0wt% and the rest of Co. CONSTITUTION:A plastic film with the thickness of 5-25mm. of polyester, acetate, polycarbonate, etc. is used as a base tape. A specific amount of a magnetic metal composite composed of Ni by 0-30wt%, Mo by 0.5-12.0wt% and Co for the rest is put in a vacuum fusion furnace of the electron beam irraciation heating type to produce an ingot. Following this process, a running tape is deposited with it as an evaporating source by means of heating or ion beam radition till the thickness of the evaporated film reaches as much as 0.3mm.. Thus, a corrosion resistance is grately improved. |
