PURPOSE:To roll a dogbone-shaped billet easily to a desired shape in a rolling reduction of the web part of said billet by determining conditions for the rolling reduction by the specific equations from the metal flow quantity from the reduced part to the unreduced parts. CONSTITUTION:In the stage of rolling a billet of a rectangular shape or a dogbone shape in section to a desired shape by rolling reduction roughly the central or web part thereof, the elongation ratio lambda, entire width W1, and flange part thickness F1 out of the deformations produced by the rolling are forecast by the equations based on the metal flow quantity DELTAM from the rolling reduction part to the unreduced part. Thereby, rolling conditions are determined at optimum conditions with respect to the flange width Br, that is, roll shape and the shape of the material to be rolled. In the equations, an affixed number 0 is a size before rolling, an affixed number 1 is a size after rolling, and H is the thickness of the rolling reduction part of the material to be rolled. |
