PURPOSE:To enable installing of an intake pipe in a given depth, by a method wherein an elastic weight, bending when it seats to the bottom of the sea, and floats whose buoyancy is adjustable, are attached to a cold water intake pipe whose specific gravity is lighter than that of seawater. CONSTITUTION:Lower valves of floats 23 are opened in order with the movement from a rear end side of a cold water intake pipe 2 to the front end thereof to implant water. This causes the long-sized cold water intake pipe 2 to sequentially sink toward the bottom of the sea. A part of chain weights 21a and 21b seats the bottom of the sea, and the cold water intake pipe 2 stops sinking at a point when a total of the buoyancy of the cold water intake pipe 2 and the buoyancies of the floats 23 balances with a weight of a part of the chains 21a and 21b which are not in a state to seat the bottom of the sea. |
