PRODUCTION OF PEARLESCENT THERMOPLASTIC RESIN PRODUCT

PURPOSE:To obtain a thermoplastic resin having beautiful pealescent luster and excellent impact resistance and hinge characteristics, by mixing a stylene/butadiene block copolymer and crystalline polypropylene in a specified ratio and molding the mixture. CONSTITUTION:A stylene/butadiene block copolymer having a butadiene content of 10-35wt% is mixed with crystalline polypropylene in such a proportion that the content of the stylene/butadiene block copolymer becomes 25-95wt%. As the block form of said styrene/butadiene block copolymer, a block form expressed by formulaI[where S is a polymer block composed wholly or mainly of styrene; B is polymer block composed wholly or mainly of butadiene; n is 1-5; Y is the number (>=3) of functional groups of a polyfunctional coupling agent used for a star polymer]is preferred. A block form represented by a star polymer of formula II is particularly preferred.
