PURPOSE:To attain a recording medium having good high-speed recordability and plasticizer resistance, by using a specific hydroxybenzophenone as a color forming substance in a thermo-sensitive recording layer which contains a colorless or light-colored basic dye and a substance for developing color from said dye as main ingredients. CONSTITUTION:As a substance for developing color from a basic dye by heating, 100-1,000pts.wt., preferably 100-500pts.wt. hydroxybenzophenone represented by formulaI(wherein R1, R2 and R3 are each hydrogen or a hydroxyl group), is added to 100pts.wt. colorless or light-colored basic dye to form a recording layer. To improve recording sensitivity, 10-1,000pts.wt. heat-fusible substance is added to 100pts.wt. color forming substance. As such heat-fusible substances may be used a phthalate represented by formula II (wherein R4 and R5 are each a 1-6C alkyl, phenyl or cyclohexyl group), benzotriazole represented by formula III, benzophenone represented by formula IV, etc. |
