PURPOSE: To obtain an ink jet recording ink prevented from delivery nozzle cloggings, capable of making good recording even on plain paper etc., and excellent in the water resistance and quick dryability of the recorded images on acidic paper or neutralized paper, by blending an ink jet recording ink with a compound having both heterocycle and carboxyl group. CONSTITUTION: This ink is obtained by blending an ink jet recording ink comprising (A) a colorant (pref. a phthalocyanine-based dye of the formula), (B) water (pref. deionized water) and (C) a water-soluble organic solvent (e.g. an alcohol) with (D) a compound having both heterocycle and carboxyl group (pref. histidine or tryptophan). It is preferable that the amounts of the components A, B, C and D to be blended be 1-5wt.%, 50-90wt.%, 5-20wt.% and 0.1-5wt.%, based on the whole ink composition, respectively. Besides, this ink may be formulated, as necessary, with a surfactant, pH adjuster, antiseptic, chelating agent etc. |
