PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a controller and a control method of a dynamo-electric machine for vehicle, capable of driving the dynamo-electric machine for vehicle stably.SOLUTION: When a dynamo-electric machine for vehicle functions as a generator, and the rotational speed of the dynamo-electric machine for vehicle is less than a predetermined value, a field current flowing through a field coil is controlled by field current control means, and armature current control means conducts an armature current subjected to PWM control to an armature coil and generates power by PWM control. When the rotational speed of the dynamo-electric machine for vehicle exceeds the predetermined value, the field current control means generates power by controlling the field current flowing to the field coil. An overmodulation PWM control is performed so that the modulation factor by PWM control has a predetermined value or more, during at least one of transition from power generation by PWM control to power generation by field current control, and transition from power generation by field current control to power generation by PWM control.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1A |
