PURPOSE:To reduce the mixing of used tonor with fresh tonor by arranging a light penetrating type tonor detecting element so as to be opposed to a tonor carrying means fitted to the bottom of a tonor storage tank with a slight space between the element and tonor carrying means. CONSTITUTION:A screw 13 carrying tonor in the axial direction to feed the tonor to a developing device and a cylindrical body 14 moving the tonor in the direction meeting with its axis at right angles are fitted in parallel pivotally in reverse direction each other to the bottom in a tonor storage tank 12 formed so that the longitudinal section of the bottom 5 shows a W shape. Projections or grooves for carrying the tonor and preventing it from being exerted by surplus loads are formed on the surface of the cylindrical body 14 and a light penetrating type element 8 is arranged with an interval of 1-3mm. between the element and the cylindrical body 14. Since the tonor detecting element 8 detects the residual quantity of tonor and supplies it, used tonor, scarecely exists in the tonor tank, is not mixed with fresh tonor. |
